MSC Approved for FY23 Carls Perkins Grant

Perkins V Grant from CareerTech

MSC received approval for a Perkins V: Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Grant.

The grant is used to purchase needed equipment and professional development materials for our A.A.S. programs:

Physical Therapist Assistant
Occupational Therapy Assistant
Veterinary Nursing
Gunsmithing Technology
Manufacturing Technology

MSC is the lead member of a consortium that also includes Southern Tech, and Pontotoc and Red River Technology Centers.

A portion of these funds are used to supplement salaries for career and education counseling services at these technology centers.

Dr. Jacobs-Pollez Receives Professor Emerita Designation

Congratulations!

Dr. Jacbos-Pollez has been with the Murray family for 10 years. She has served on multiple committees during her tenure including the Responsible Citizenship and Cultural Events committees. She made sure the students and entire Murray State community celebrated the different cultures.

The "Emerita" title is considered very prestigious. Dr. Jacobs-Pollez is well deserving of this title.

Cothran and Quinn Receive Promotions

Congratulations Brian and Terri!

Brian Cothran is now a Professor in the Agriculture Department.

He has served as an instructor and student adviser for the agriculture program for more than 20 years.

Terri Quinn is now an Assistant Professor in the Science Department.

She was an adjunct instructor for seven years before joining Murray full time in 2018.
