Murray State Science Professor Wins State Award

Murray State College Science Professor Terri Quinn was selected as the Oklahoma State Teacher's Association Science Teacher of the Year for the college/university level.

Terri teaches Microbiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology 1&2.

Three Lady Aggies Named NJCAA All-Americans

Three Murray State College softball players, Bradi Harman, Haili Igou and Shaylin Midgley, were selected as 2024 NJCAA Division II First Team All-Americans.

STEM Camp

Murray State hosted 18 students last week for the College's STEM Camp.

The students were exposed to various areas within STEM that are offered at Murray State such as Anatomy and Physiology, Astronomy, Chemistry, Engineering Manufacturing, Microbiology, Nursing, Veterinary Nursing. The students ended the week with a cultural field trip the the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur, Oklahoma.

The camp is grant funded by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Murray State College Basketball Camp

Over the course of four days, Murray State College's basketball coaches and players taught campers in a fun environment to improve their basketball skills and development on the court.

Southeastern Oklahoma Talent Search Program

Murray State College hosted more than 70 students and mentors with the Southeastern Oklahoma Talent Search program.

The students toured several departments, emphasizing on the nursing, agriculture and child development programs. Students attended a veterinary nursing simulation lab to experience how a student trains.

Ardmore Corporate Fitness Challenge Rankings

Murray State placed second overall in the highest division.

Other placings were first in the Basketball Tournament and Home Run Derby. First in the Volunteer Category with the most volunteers.

Murray State also won second in Golf, Rowing, Tug of War and Volleyball.

Carter County Cattlemen's Meeting

Murray State College hosted the Carter County Cattlemen's meeting at the Murray Event Center. President Dr. Tim Faltyn gave opening remarks and a college update.

Murray State College Regent Sparks, a cattlemen's association member, attended to show his support and advocacy for the agriculture industry.

Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Visit

Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation staff visited Murray State to learn about the College's gunsmithing program and shotgun training facility.

Community Outreach Ceramics Class

Murray State College's Community Ceramics class kicked off last week. It is a 3-week class that covers the basics of ceramics and is hosted by Murray State Art Instructor Annette Liceaga.

State of STEAM Seminar

Murray State AVP of External Affairs Jordyn Frazier attended the State of STEAM Seminar with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

The seminar focused on workforce and economic development in areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

Oklahoma Southeast Golf Tournament

Murray State's Brian Cothran and Jordyn Frazier played in the Oklahoma Southeast golf tournament, in which Murray was a sponsor.

The Murray State team placed first in their flight.

Basketball Coaches Volunteer at Local Tournament

Murray State basketball coaches volunteered at a local basketball tournament, The Lost Tribe Tipoff, held at the new Chickasaw Nation gym in Tishomingo.
