Farmhouse Fundraiser

More than 100 people were in attendance for the Farmhouse Fundraiser at the Murray State College Event Center in Ardmore.

The event raises funds for Murray State's Agriculture and Veterinary Nursing Programs and ag-related activities. Preliminary numbers indicate that more than $40,000 was raised to support student scholarships and pay for needed equipment and supplies.

Agriculture students represented the ag-related programs and competitive teams:

Bass Fishing Team, Collegiate FFA, Livestock Judging Team, Livestock Show Team, Rodeo Team and Shotgun Team

Men's Golf Wins Third Straight Tournament

The Murray State College Men's Golf Team faced a nine-stroke deficit to the No. 5 team in the country after the first round of action at the Cleveland State College Tournament.

The Aggies found their stride in the following 18 holes to tie for the lead. Adam Husell became the hero in the playoff as he buried a 15-foot putt on the second playoff hole to give the Aggies their third straight victory!

Board of Regents Meeting

The Murray State College Board of Regents held their April meeting on Tuesday evening.

During dinner, Dr. Faltyn recognized Staci Bettes for all of her hard work in putting together all of the College's HLC document submissions.

Students from Murray State's livestock show team, livestock judging team and academic team were also recognized for their recent successes.

Murray State FBLA students competed at the 2024 State Leadership Conference at UCO.

Cyndi Stoker received the Oklahoma FBLA Collegiate Chapter Adviser of the Year.

Theresa Schultz received the Oklahoma Who's Who in FBLA. She placed first in four categories and one second place.

Gavin Crouch received the Oklahoma National Business Honor Roll Award and placed in the top 10 in five categories.

Hannah Smith placed in the top 10 in five categories, and Claudia Valles placed first in one category and placing in the top 5 in two other categories

Oklahoma Promise Day at the Capital

Murray State College students McKenzie Walker, Kelsi Elliott, Connor Perkins, Jazmyn Ragle and Jessenia Rubio visited with Senator Jerry Alvord about the Oklahoma Promise scholarship program. They encouraged elected officials to continue to fund the program.

Oklahoma History Day

On Wednesday, Murray State College hosted 96 students from Ada, Lone Grove, Shawnee and Sulphur for Oklahoma History Day.

Students choose historical topics related to a theme and conduct extensive primary and secondary research through libraries, archives, museums, and historic sites.

Oklahoma National History Day program is a part of National History Day. It is a highly regarded academic program for students grades 6–12.

Students present their work in original papers, exhibits, performances, websites and documentaries.

Best of the Chickasaw Country Awards

Quinton Jones was invited to be a guest speaker at the Chickasaw Country Marketing Association Annual Membership Meeting.

Total Solar Eclipse Parties

Murray State celebrated this rare event with a party on both campuses with snacks and refreshments themed around outer space.

MSC Veterinary Nursing Low Income Spay & Neuter Event

Murray State's Vet Nursing program held a spay and neuter clinic for cats and dogs on Thursday.

Dr. Jared Nenninger, MSC alum and Wewoka Animal Hospital veterinarian, helped the students practice what they've learned in their classes and labs.

Softball Sweeps National Park

The No. 4 ranked Murray State College Softball Team picked up a couple of big road wins against National Park College on Thursday.

The Lady Aggies dominated the Nighthawks, 20-2 and 10-2, to complete the sweep. Murray State is now 35-5 overall and 12-0 in region play.

Men's Golf Receiving Votes in

Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA DII Poll

Fresh off winning three consecutive tournaments, the Murray State College Men's Golf Team received votes in the newest edition of the Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA DII Poll.

The final poll of 2023-24 will be released on May 3.
