OU Nursing Partnership Agreement

The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing announced a partnership with Murray State College & the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma - a collaboration that is an important step toward building a qualified, educated nursing workforce to address the critical nursing shortage in Oklahoma, primarily benefiting rural Oklahoma.

Local Tishomingo high school and concurrent Murray State student, Charlee Mayes, shared her story about her desired path to becoming a CRNA. One that begins with earning her associate's degree in nursing at Murray State and continues to the University of Oklahoma.

"For small town students like me, this is a dream come true. Access is what we need. The chance to pursue what we know that we're meant to do without having to move hundreds of miles from home. Thank you all for this opportunity to make my dreams a reality."

Thank you!

"Thank you all who have helped make this possible. It's a historic step towards creating the Southern Oklahoma Center for Nursing on Murray State's Ardmore campus."

The Chickasaw Nation Office of Natural Resources Director Kris Patton presented the Heart of Conservation award to Murray State for the dedicated efforts to ensure natural resources stewardship.

Murray has broken down barriers toward development of an enhanced water supply serving all of the citizens of Tishomingo. Renovations to the historic Chickasaw Hall and partnership grant opportunities with the Chickasaw Nation to enhance agricultural outreach has allowed us to be a valued partner in community sustainability across the Chickasaw Nation.

"These Shining Lives"

Murray State College's School of Arts, Education and Social Sciences students performed the play, "These Shining Lives," to students and local communities.

The play chronicled the strength and determination of the women working at The Radium Dial Company. It was a dream job at a time when not many women were able to be part of the workforce.
