American Legion Anniversary Celebration

The George-Moore American Legion Post 164 in Tishomingo celebrated 100 years of supporting our community's veterans.

Murray State College President Dr. Tim Faltyn was instrumental in providing support and gathering partners to assist in Legion Hall renovations leading to the important milestone.

He was the keynote speaker at the event and was joined by his sons, Max and Rex for the Masonic cornerstone ceremony.

Murray State's Women's Basketball Coach Selected for Coach Award

Murray State's Women's Basketball Coach Nate Levine was selected as one of 12 Junior College Head Basketball Coaches to coach at the NCAA Women's College Basketball Academy in Rock Hill, South Carolina, at the end of July.

Aggie Days

Wednesday kicked off the summer series of Aggie Days - Murray State’s freshman orientation - with 57 students. They learned about the various resources available to them such as financial aid and academic advisement.


More incoming freshman will visit campus on July 30 and August 1, 15 and 16.

Oklahoma Youth Preparedness Camp

Murray State College hosted high school students during the Oklahoma Youth Preparedness Camp this week.


Students learned how to save lives and respond immediately to help out after disaster strikes. They also learned CPR and wound-packing, how to turn off gas and propane after a fire, search and mark buildings, and how to safely get a person out of harms way.

Southern Oklahoma Library Leadership Retreat

Librarians from across the state of Oklahoma met with the Southern Oklahoma Library Systems for their annual meeting on Murray State’s Ardmore campus.

OTA Summer Conference 2024

The Murray State College’s Occupational Therapy Program held their summer conference on July 15 at Murray State's Tishomingo campus.


The conference allowed Murray State's OTA students the opportunity to present their final class business plans and service projects. Their projects focused on current industry topics for occupational therapy practitioners and students, and fieldwork educators.

Murray State’s Bass Fishing Coach and Son Place at NBAA National Competition

Bass Fishing Coach John Owen and his son Carson - a Murray State student and fishing team member - competed in the NBAA National Qualifier Event on Grand Lake in Grove, OK. They placed first on day one of the event and second place on the second day.

Website Scavenger Hunt Week 2 Winner

Brooklyn Leulf, Murray State College's Academic Coach and Career Coordinator, was the week two winner of our four-week long website scavenger hunt. She received a $75 Visa gift card for her efforts.
