Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges Conference Awards

OACC honored Murray State President Emeritus Joy McDaniel, and Murray State staff, faculty and support staff at this year's annual conference.

Murray State College President Dr. Faltyn had the honor of introducing President Emeritus Joy McDaniel as an inductee to the 2023 OACC Hall of Fame.

Dean of Learning and Student Success, Tracey Hickman was a 2023 GIFT award winner and received $500.

School of Health Science Dean, Dan Moore, received the faculty of the year award.


Director of Advisement, Melissa McBride, was recognized as staff of the year.


Retention Coordinator, Lindsay Brantley, was named support staff year.

Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Center Returns to Murray State Campus

After a couple decades off campus and on Main Street, Lighthouse Behavior Wellness Center has returned back to the Murray State College campus. Lighthouse provides behavioral wellness services to Murray State faculty, staff and students.


Lighthouse celebrated the move by hosting a block party on Murray State’s North Lawn.

Michelin Technical Scholar Signing Dinner

Murray State College hosted the Michelin Technical Scholar Signing Dinner in Ardmore on Tuesday.


Michelin Tech Scholars receive scholarships for the Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering along with competitive pay for part-time work in the Michelin manufacturing facility. 

President Dr. Tim Faltyn welcomed Murray State students and their families, and Michelin employees.


Regent Chair Benson, a long time Michelin employee, provided words of encouragement.

Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Pumpkin Contest

Murray State students, faculty, and staff painted pink pumpkins on the Ardmore and Tishomingo campuses in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Vet Nursing Holds Baked Potato Sale Fundraiser

Vet Nursing hosted its annual Baked Potato Sale Fundraiser on Thursday to help their student club purchase gifts for the Johnston County children.


The gifts will be handed out at the Annual Vet Nursing Santa Night Fundraiser on Dec. 1.

Career Readiness & Exploration

Student Support Services hosted Career Readiness & Exploration in the library this week. Student Support Services taught students career skills including resume building and conducted mock interviews.

Murray State is tied for 1st Place in the Oklahoma Trail, 5th Place in the Junior College Rankings and 32nd in the Nation out of 408 Schools!

Aggies Ranked in Central Region Standings

After two rodeos, the Murray State College Rodeo Team has

seven Aggies ranked in the Central Region Standings!

The Murray State College Rodeo Team had five Aggies make it to the championship round at the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Rodeo this past weekend. Kyle Marcum, Jake Wells, Kagan Davis, Bryson Nelms and Garrett Hughes

Golf Hosts Fall Aggie Invite

The Murray State College men's and women's golf teams hosted the Fall Aggie Invitational at the Lake Murray Golf Course in Ardmore this week.


17 teams and more than 90 golfers participated in the two-day tournament.

The women's team claimed sixth place.

The men's team earned fourth place.

Women's Soccer Records 10th Shutout of Season

The Murray State College women's soccer team continued their dominance early in the week with a pair of shutouts, 3-0 and 7-0, to extend their win streak to five matches.


They are 12-1-1 on the season and within one win of the top team in the region.

Men's Soccer in 2nd Place in Region II

The Aggies lost their first match this week, but got back on track with a big victory over Connors State College.


The Aggies are 8-2-1 and are in second place in the Region II standings.
