Murray State College Commencement Recap

Chickasaw Nation Partnership Award

Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby was this year's commencement speaker.

After his inspiring address, we presented him with a gift to announce and commemorate that Ittapila' Scholarship at Murray State. Ittapila' means partnership in Chickasaw.

One week ago, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the Chickasaw Nation announced a scholarship challenge to all public colleges and universities in Oklahoma to raise $50,000 in need-based scholarships. If done, the Chickasaw Nation scholars fund would match the donated funds, providing $100,000 in new scholarships for the institution.

Governor Anoatubby's alma mater, Murray State College, was the first institution to accept and meet the challenge with 16 donors.

"Thank You"

"It was an honor to have Governor Anoatubby share in the commencement celebration. We are proud of Governor Anoatubby and proud of him as our alumni. We are honored to be a partner with the Chickasaw Nation."
