Freshman Nursing Awards & Capping Ceremony

Upon completing training approximately two semesters, Murray State College freshmen nursing students receive their nursing cap. This ceremony helps promote school pride and inspires students to persevere through the rigors of training ahead.

Murray State College celebrated its sophomore nursing students with a ceremony. The Nurse Pinning Ceremony occurs at the end of a student's nursing program and signifies the completion of this level of education and official initiation into the profession.

Murry State Nursing Toy Drive

The Murray State Nursing Program held its first toy drive. Students donated unwrapped toys to benefit children in need this season.

PSP Donates Toys to Johnston County

Angel Tree Kids

The President's Scholar Program (PSP) donated close to $4,000 worth of toys to the Johnston County Angel Tree kids on Friday.

Board of Regents Meeting

The Murray State College Board of Regents meeting was held last Tuesday evening. They toured the indoor golf facility and weight room prior to dinner.

Trista Westbrook, Murray State Nursing student, and Kylie Gregg received a citation from the State of Oklahoma for their selfless acts of assisting to administer CPR to a woman who collapsed during a Rexroat Baptist Church service. Thanks to Westbrook's and Gregg's quick action, the woman who collapsed would make a full recovery.

Pastor Jimmy May presented Westbrook and Gregg with plaques.

Murray State College Men's and Women's Head Soccer Coach John Connor was presented with an engraved soccer ball for leading the Aggies to record-setting seasons this year, and his Coach of the Year awards.

The Regents received their personal-plated shovels from the previous ground breakings of Chickasaw Hall and Murray State's new gunsmithing building.

Murray State and Tubacex America Partner

Murray State has partnered with Tubacex America to offer internships to industrial engineering students.


Murray State President Dr. Faltyn and Industrial Engineering Program Chair Lonny Goff toured the plant floor in Durant.

Murray State College hosted their annual holiday party on Thursday. Employees and their families attended the event.

Happy Holidays from Niche crew to the Murray State College family!

Niche held its last meeting of the fall semester.

Niche shopped and made gift bags for all of the residents at the Blue River Nursing home for their community outreach this holiday season.

Brooks Wins 2023 Murray State Master Designer Award

Danielle Brooks received the 2023 Master Designer Award. She has built Murray State College's previous four floats and all have placed, some winning first.


She graduates this year and will open up her own plant nursery in March 2024.


Softball Coaches Receive National Awards

During the 2023 NFCA Softball Convention, Coach Mullens and Coach Crawford received the ATEC/NFCA NJCAA Division II National Coaching Staff of the Year award at the NFCA Awards Brunch. Coach Mullens and Coach Crawford led the Murray State College softball team to a whopping 105 victories over the last two seasons.

Coach Crawford was also named the NJCAA Division II Easton/NFCA Assistant Coach of the Year.

Marilyn Rupard, a Fine Arts student, presented Dr. Faltyn with her piece in his office, where he will display the artwork.

CMC Tour

Two industrial engineering technology students toured the CMC Plant in Durant this week. 


CMC is a steel plant that manufactures rebar and T-posts. Students saw how the products are made, the opportunities available to them with their degrees and the real life applications of what they are learning.
