Murray State's Future Business Leaders of America Chapter Members Win at Conference

Last week, Murray State College FBLA chapter members: Helen Tosti, Alex Robinson and Theresa Brown competed in performance events, attended workshops and learned how to create their online personal brand at the FBLA State Leadership Conference at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in Edmond, Oklahoma. 


Alex Robinson received the National Business Honor Roll recognition. 


Helen Tosti received Who's Who in Oklahoma FBLA.



Kathy Bowen, MSC FBLA adviser was recognized as the Oklahoma FBLA Adviser of the Year.


All three members qualified to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference at Atlanta, Georgia in June.

Murray State Students Receive OACC Awards

Three Murray State students were invited to attend the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) All-Oklahoma Academic Team Award Ceremony at the State Capitol.


Bradley Gooch and Terah Garcia received the OACC President’s Tuition Waiver.


Zachary Eminger was awarded All-State Academic Team.

OTA Student Inducted into Alpha Omega Tau (AOT) National Honor Society

A special induction ceremony was held for Occupational Therapy Assistant student, Tiona Cohee, as she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Tau National Honor Society.

Spring Musical "Nunsense"

Murray State College, in collaboration with Ardmore Little Theatre, presented "Nunsense" this past week. This hilarious musical was performed on Murray State's campus Tishomingo and at the Murray Event Center in Ardmore.


Cast included: Casey Jones, Kierra Hendricks, Alexia Ballard, Lisa Riggle, Summer Calaway, Joan Rushing Dewees, Lee Ann Harris, Danise Gallaway and Susan Pfau Yeager.


"Nunsense" is a hilarious spoof about the misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser.

HLC Conference

Representatives from Murray State attended the HLC Conference to learn about accreditation, teaching and learning, and improvement of higher education. The theme this year is Learn-Lead-Luminate. 


They had a great time learning from the HLC and other institutions.

University of North Texas Students Visit Ardmore Campus

Marketing students from the University of North Texas visited Murray State's Ardmore campus as part of their class's economic development project.


Murray State President Dr. Faltyn shared the vision and preliminary plans for the Ardmore campus.

Gunsmithing Trip to the J.M. Davis Museum

Gunsmithing students recently took a trip to the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum in Claremore, Oklahoma.


Rob Webb, Gunsmithing Adjunct Instructor, coordinates this trip each year for his American Firearm and Law (2A Law) class.


The students were given some historical information from Jason Shubert, Museum Curator. This year, one of the guns he presented was taken off of Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd during one of the many times he was apprehended.

Casino Night

Murray State College was a roulette table sponsor during "Casino Night" this past weekend. The event benefited the Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma.

Human Trafficking Seminar

Students, staff and community members were able to attend a human trafficking seminar that focused on education and awareness.


United Way of South Central Oklahoma partnered with Murray State College and The Dragonfly Home to help make the event possible.
