Greetings! Wow - we now have a real game changer to deal with. I hope this finds you well and safe. We want to be able to hug you when the museum finally opens again. Each one of you is important to us. We are working hard to try and find ways to stay in touch. If you have any ideas of how you'd like to connect with us - please let us know. You can send us an email or call. I am in the museum most days and I'd be happy to talk to you. I am grateful for our board of directors who are willing to continue to support Kristen and me so we can keep things going. Kristen is at home with her children and is working on our new donor data base and other things. It's time we move into the real world and are able to better communicate with all of you. I am at the museum wading through all of the COVID-19 "how to" information about funding for non profits and how to stay afloat. We are 41 years old this year and we want to be able to get to 42 years and beyond. We are grateful to all of you who have offered to help in one way or another. Stay tuned and visit our website now and then. We will be posting new ways of staying in touch like virtual classes or even virtual concerts. In the meantime stay well and safe. A message from our board president, Pam

What a change a month can bring! I hope this finds you all well and taking good care of yourselves. The Museum and Gallery One are both closed until further notice. We have postponed Dancing with the GP stars and will probably be postponing Art in the Garden. We are minimizing as many expenses as possible while continuing to support our two valued employees. Please read on and you can see how Hyla and Kristen are working on some wonderful ideas to keep the Museum and Art available to all our great members. Enjoy your time at home, being with loved ones, take some time to be creative, and stay safe. As always thank you so much for the great and unending support you give to our wonderful Museum. Current Exhibit

Best of the Best is one of our favorite exhibits. The museum hosts the exhibit once every three years. Due to the museum's closure we are going to be offering a virtual slide show of as many of the students' art as we can. The teachers are sending photographs now. As soon as we have the slide show ready we'll post it on the museum website. We want to honor the many of these creative students as possible.

2020 Music at the Museum Schedule

Unfortunately we had to cancel the concerts for March and April. The May concert will probably be cancelled as well. We are working on having some virtual concerts with some of the musicians. We'll let you know what we are planning as soon as we know.

For those of you who have or want to attend one of the museum's concerts - you can get some enjoyment out of Lipbone Redding's live streaming concerts each Saturday. Click the picture for a link to his website or you can follow him on Facebook. Both give you the ability to see his live performance. Hopefully, he'll be here in person in July.

Virtual Art Workshops

We are working on offering virtual art classes while the museum is closed. These may range from "How to Draw" to "Zentangle" and more. We will notify you when we have them scheduled. Click here to be on the list.

Second Friday poetry sharing

This fun community event has been postponed for now. We will resume as soon as it's feasible. This will be the first time in TEN YEARS that the museum will not host a Second Friday Poetry Night.

Important Dates to Remember

Dancing with the Grants Pass Stars: May 16, 2020 postponed until September 12 (we hope) Art in the Garden: June 13 and 14th (might have to change the date) Open Studios: September 26 and 27 Black, White, & the Blues: February 20, 2021

The funds we raise with these events helps pay for: ·          5th Grade Field Trips  - Over 450   5 th  graders   came to the museum and learned about museums, art galleries, and art history. Each child left a bag full of art supplies and the knowledge that there is a place in the arts for everyone. We already have 500 kids scheduled to come this spring! ·          Art Classes  -Dozens of children attended the summer art classes. We had 16 different classes with an average attendance of 12 kids in each class! Adult classes remain popular with 25 different classes in 2019. ·          Gallery One  – the Museum owns Gallery One, covering administrative costs, handling marketing, and giving the gallery a home in the building. Our gallery artists work hard covering shifts, and of course making all the wonderful art. ·          Music in the Museum  – Musicians from around the country came to play at the museum with ten concerts in 2019. ·          Art Library  – our art library is now open, and members can check out books. Our youngest library patron is a delightful seven-year-old named Lavender. She uses the books to supplement her home school education. ·          Art Exhibitions  – Our amazing Exhibition Department brings art to Grants Pass from

The museum does not receive government funding (other than grants from the Josephine County Cultural Coalition). So keeping the doors open depends on grants, donations, memberships, and rent from the street level businesses (Closet Catalyst and Gallery One). You can do one time donations and you can also do monthly donations. It's easy - and we appreciate you very much!
