Greetings!

On this first day of February, we are reaching out to all of you to happily support the museum by bidding on the art in our auction. It would have been impossible to have Black, White, & the Blues this year and we decided to not have a virtual event. In its place we have 256 works of art to sell at a virtual auction.

All of the art is incredible. And we are so grateful to the 75 artists who were generous in donating their creativity. We are also very grateful to Evergreen Federal Bank for helping to support this exhibit and event.

Clay Creatures

with Jan Lacy

Saturday, Feb 19

AND Saturday, Mar 5

1-4 pm, both days

Create your own creature out of clay! Learn hand-building techniques and build your creature during the first class. Monsters? Elephants? Whatever you want! Glaze your creature in the second class. Jan Lacy will be available to help you every step of the way.

Jan does all the firing for you too!
Perfect for beginners.
Kids can sign up too (must be accompanied by adult)

How to Draw Your Furry Friend

with Kristen O'Neill

Saturday, March 19

1 - 4 pm

Practice your drawing skills while sketching one of your favorite animals. Techniques of proportion and scale, shading, and creating realistic eyes and fur will be covered. Taught in graphite pencil. Materials included. Bring a clear photo of your pet (make sure you can see the details).

NEW FILM SERIES:

We are calling it Sunday Afternoon in the Museum with "artist name"

We are limiting the seating to 30 people.

Cost per person is $3.

The first one is March 13 at 2pm and the artist is Frida Kahlo, in honor of Women's History Month.

Music at the Museum

We have scheduled seven concerts for 2022. They will begin in April. Soon, the listings will be on the website and you can purchase tickets. Here is a list of our musicians.

All concerts are on a Thursday evening from 7pm - 9pm. Tickets will be $20.

CBS Sunday Morning had a great segment this week.

Attorney Bryan Stevenson, author of the bestseller "Just Mercy," has helped to save 145 wrongly-convicted prisoners from execution, but these days the man behind Montgomery, Alabama's National Memorial for Peace and Justice might be better known his other job: educating Americans about the legacy of slavery and racial violence in this country. Stevenson talks with correspondent David Pogue about confronting history as a first step in healing, and gives a tour of the brand new Legacy Museum in Montgomery.
