Jimmy Lane, our favorite local surf artist, joined us back in April for Heritage Day. At the event Jimmy created a painting while the event was underway as those attending visited with Jimmy and watched him work. Raffle tickets were sold, and the lucky winner took home the painting.
Jimmy has agreed to join us again for Night at the Museum and create a painting that will be raffled at the event.
Check out the completed painting from April's event below.

Museum member, Nancy Fredrickson was the lucky winner of the painting shown above at Heritage Day 2022 back in early April. Don't miss your chance to watch Jimmy create the painting for this year's Night At the Museum, and pick up a raffle ticket or two and support the New Smyrna Museum of History.

Thursday, Oct. 13th at 6:30 PM
120 Sams Ave., New Smyrna Beach Fl 32168
Join us at the Museum as we welcome Dr. Ann Browning-Masters, author of "Floridanos, Menorcans, Cattle-Whip Crackers, Poetry of St. Augustine". With three great-great aunts recognized as Civil War spies and a great-great uncle known from Mayport, Florida to Cape May, New Jersey as a rum-runner during Prohibition, Ann Browning Masters has a colorful family history of stories to tell. But, she also has stories of common life that weave a quiet beauty around tales of resistance and intrigue.

We have all been saddened by the impacts of hurricane Ian on our friends, families, and in many cases ourselves.
Our hearts go out to those who have suffered the impacts, both here locally, and all along the path of the storm.
The New Smyrna Museum of History was fortunate and did not suffer any physical impacts from the storm or water intrusion into our museum exhibit space.
We will now begin putting the museum back together.
Our hope is to be re-opening to the public by the end of the week.
Night At the Museum is still on schedule and now under two weeks away. Don't forget to get your tickets and join us for our most enjoyable fundraiser of the year. We are still planning to take over the south end of Emory Bennett Park and extend this event into the outdoors to take advantage of our new found fall temperatures.
We will be adding more auction and raffle items right up until time for the event so keep an eye out for email and Facebook updates in the coming days.
Museum programming will continue on Thursday, October 13th, see the info above for all the details.
We hope to see you soon at The New Smyrna Museum of History.

Back in 2004, 1st Sergeant Colella was deployed to the second Gulf War in Iraq.
