MICHENER ART MUSEUM
SUNDAY, APRIL 23 
MID-CENTURYTO MANGA: THE MODERN JAPANESE PRINT IN AMERICA is on view at the JAMES A MICHENER MUSEUM in DOYLESTOWN. This exhibit showcases 75 prints on paper drawn from the museum’s collection and three original copies of Michener’s book, "The Modern Japanese Print: An Appreciation." Enjoy the museum's fine collection of American Impressionism and an installation WALE OYEJIDE: FLIGHT OF THE DREAMER with original writings of prisoners in the Bucks County Prison, with work by the world-renowned Nigerian/American filmmaker and fashion designer.

BROOKLYN MUSEUM AND BOTANIC GARDEN

In addition to the permanent collections of Egyptian, Asian, and American art, the BROOKLYN MUSEUM has many special exhibitions to enjoy. THIERRY MUGLER: COUTURISME is the first major exploration of the edgy French designer who captured the attention of the fashion world in the latter part of the 20th century. View over one hundred outfits, stage costumes, accessories, and more.

MONET TO MORISOT has ninety works from the museum's holdings featuring Monet, Matisse, Courbet, Morisot, and more. Spend time in the adjacent BROOKLYN BOTANIC GARDEN, where their gorgeous display of lilacs just might be in full bloom.

Also planned for May 21 is an optional visit to FOUR FREEDOMS PARK, the magnificent MEMORIAL dedicated to FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT and the last work of Philadelphia architect LOUIS I. KAHN. Located on the southern tip of ROOSEVELT ISLAND, it celebrates the FOUR FREEDOMS: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Want and Freedom from Fear, proclaimed by President Roosevelt in his State of the Union address in January of 1941.

A VISIT TO GLENSTONE

Immerse yourself in art, architecture and nature at GLENSTONE in POTOMAC, MARYLAND presenting the vast modern and contemporary art collection of Emily and Richard Rales. The museum complex called THE PAVILLIONS was designed by American architect THOMAS PHIFER and contains more than 1300 artworks from all over the world. It is situated on 230 acres of landscape which includes paths, streams, meadows, forests and outdoor sculpture.

A major survey of the work of ELLSWORTH KELLY is on view to celebrate the centennial of this influential American abstract artist.

"LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE"

Join us once again for a delightful Saturday at LINCOLN CENTER. We have ORCHESTRA PRIME seating for a performance of the American premiere of LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE created and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. The ballet is based on the 1985 novel by Lura Esquivel. Optional arrangements will be made for lunch nearby. The bus will drop off near LINCOLN CENTER and at the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART. Departure will be near LINCOLN CENTER.
