WCUW 91.3 FM is entering
our 50th Year as
Community Radio!
We've never once changed our format, only expanded to 24/7 and now
spread the voices of Worcester worldwide via www.wcuw.org/listen

WCUW 91.3 FM receives no Federal, state, NPR, or CPB subsidies and relies primarily on direct support from you which is what has allowed WCUW 91.3 FM to maintain our status as a truly Independent Media Resource since 1973!

Is that an important thing? How many commercials have you been influenced by today?

You are the U in community radio wcUw...thanks for keeping us moving forward. www.wcuw.org/donate
I'm filling in from 10 AM to 11 AM for Diane Sutter! Then in the seat until 1 PM. Assuming I get our ZOOM link to work, Robin Lane will join us at Noon!
Robin is performing at the Bull Run on March 10th!
THE WCUW FRONTROOM
Have your next 40-60 person event in Worcester's coolest intimate venue!
Music, poetry, lectures, birthday parties, senior events, this room was created for you!
Many thanks to the Fletcher Foundation for allowing greater exposure via new street signage, a much brighter projector and new sound, and a new front door come mid-January!

Your Support Is Crucial!
We're in-between funding sources and your financial support now is more important than ever! There is so much great stuff coming to fruition at 910 Main St., but we need your financial support now to ensure it can all move forward as planned! Such as the amazing new air studio seen below which is being made possible by the Stoddard Charitable Trust. They're only helping with the equipment; we have to plug it all in and keep it running!

Work on our new air studio is underway!
Onward into our next 50 years!

NOBODY'S HAPPY HOUR

w/ Tim Macetee
7 AM to 9 AM
SUNDAY, March 5th ~ 1 PM
USA 2022; 95 min; NR but has intense spoken descriptions of brutality and genocidal events.

“All I can say is that I saw it, and it is the truth.”

In a virtuoso solo performance, David Strathairn (GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK; LINCOLN; NOMADLAND) portrays Jan Karski in this genre-defying true story of a reluctant World War II hero and Holocaust witness.

After surviving the devastation of the Blitzkrieg, Karski swears allegiance to the Polish Underground and risks his life to carry the first eyewitness reports of war-torn Poland to the Western world and, ultimately, the Oval Office. Escaping a Gestapo prison, bearing witness to the despair of the Warsaw Ghetto and confronted by the inhumanity of a death camp, Karski endures unspeakable mental anguish and physical torture to stand tall in the halls of power and speak the truth. Strathairn captures the complexity and legacy of this self-described “insignificant, little man” whose timely story of moral courage and individual responsibility can still shake the conscience of the world.

WCUW Polka programmer, Bob Zukowski is
celebrating 50 years of Polkas on the air!

The first Polka show Bob hosted kicked off on WNEB on Sunday the 4th of March, 1973! During the early 70s Polkas were heard on Saturday afternoons on WICN 90.5 FM. Later, they moved to WORC on Sundays and later began simulcasting on WORC and WGFP. When WORC changed formats, Polkas moved over to WCUW Saturday afternoons. And, 50 years later Bob is still keeping the Polkas alive as WCUW 91.3 FM also turns 50!
We’re proud to share that WCUW has been awarded a Worcester Arts Council grant for 2023, for our 50th Anniversary Concert Series! WAC! funded grants like these are vital to Worcester’s creative community. They support local artists of today and ignite a spark for generations of future artists to come. Thank you to @WorcesterArtsCouncil and @MassCultural for your support, and congratulations to all the 2023 WAC grant recipients!
