“The unifying theme that brings Bob Dylan’s works together is not so much found in the Holy Bible as it is in the movie “Children Of Paradise’” (Larry Fyffe, in his article “Bob Dylan And The Children Of Paradise”)
The movie “Children of Paradise” is set in the theatrical world of Paris during the July Monarchy (1830–1848), centered on the area around the Funambules theatre, situated on the Boulevard du Temple – pejoratively referred to as the “Boulevard du Crime”.

The film revolves around a beautiful and charismatic courtesan, Garance (Arletty). Four men – the mime Baptiste Deburau (Jean-Louis Barrault), the actor Frédérick Lemaître (Pierre Brasseur), the thief Pierre François Lacenaire (Marcel Herrand), and the aristocrat Édouard de Montray (Louis Salou) – are in love with Garance, and their intrigues drive the story forward.

Director Lisa Cortés’ Sundance opening night documentary LITTLE RICHARD: I AM EVERYTHING tells the story of the Black queer origins of rock n’ roll, exploding the whitewashed canon of American pop music to reveal the innovator – the originator – Richard Penniman. Through a wealth of archive and performance that brings us into Richard’s complicated inner world, the film unspools the icon’s life story with all its switchbacks and contradictions.

Presented in the WCUW FRONTROOM as part of DYLANfest!
910 Main Street Worcester, MA
Sunday 4/30, Wednesday 5/3 @1PM.
