GradFUTURES Alum Mentorship Program

Mentorship is an essential part of your graduate student experience. In addition to your faculty advisers, graduate alums can serve as mentors, role models, connectors, and thought partners. The GradFUTURES Graduate Alum Mentorship Program matches current graduate students with alum mentors who may share invaluable insights based on their academic and professional experiences, suggest helpful skills and strategies, connect you to others in their network, and support you in navigating your journey at Princeton and beyond. Our growing network of mentors offers guidance and advice across a broad range of fields.

Upcoming PUL Lecture: "Graphic Minded" with artists Nick Butcher and Nadine Nakanishi

Please join Princeton University Library for the annual Gillett G. Griffin Memorial Lecture, featuring the multimedia artist group, Sonnenzimmer, on Thursday, October 30th, 5-6pm, in the Library Commons Classroom (D112).

Sonnenzimmer is a graphic-centric studio practice made up of Nick Butcher and Nadine Nakanishi. For over 20 years, their collaboration has reimagined the graphic arts as an agent of change. This lecture will feature a layered program that includes performance, live media, and music, presented in a way that challenges the preconceived notions of the graphic arts.

Through prepared remarks, reflections, and guided visualizations sparked by 20 years of exploratory self-publishing, Sonnenzimmer’s “Graphic Minded” stands as a living document of contemporary graphic expression as unique as it is universal.

This lecture is presented in-person and online, and will also serve as a great opportunity to check out the new Commons Library space!

Wickerwork: A Poetry-in-Translation Conversation

Christian Lehnert and Lehnert - University of Leipzig; Sieburth - New York University

Monday, October 27

4:30 pm—6:00 pm · 205

East Pyne

The German Department announces the following poetry-in-translation workshop on October 27 with the poet Christian Lehnert, who won the Hölderlin Prize 2025, and his most prolific translator, Richard Sieburth. Wickerwork contains Opus 8, which Sieburth aptly describes as "suggestive of the cataloging of a composer's work. Lehnert's verse is steeped in music, ranging from his refashionings of the hymns of the baroque poet Paul Gerhardt to his libretti for the well-known avantgarde composer Hans Werner Hense. Opus 8 he describes as having the musical structure of a Bach cantata or fugue, organized along mathematical lines.
