Dear friend
Today, The Miami Foundation starts early giving through Wednesday to make participation even easier for everyone. Your gift of any amount between $25 and $10,000 will generate a bonus for Dranoff2 that amplifies your generosity.
I want to introduce you to Duo Antithesis and Fantasia de Tres Mundos. Dimitris Karydis and Petros Moschos perform Martin Bejerano’s wonderful musical exploration of the three worlds of his musical life – Afro-Cuban, Classical and Jazz.
It is one of the performances for the students of Miami-Dade Public schools and the core piece of Piano Slam 14 in over 40 middle and high school this year. Alll Piano Slam programming is available to every single public school virtually throughout the year.
I hope that watching Duo Antithesis’ performance is enough to answer the question of why you would support Dranoff2 and Piano Slam. But I also want to introduce you to one of the great poets whom we present to our public school students. This year, through our partnership with The Miami Bookfair, we are very excited to work with the author and poet Pablo Medina who joins Tarrell Alvin McCraney, Edwidge Danticat and Campbell McGrath among others. His talk to participants of Piano Slam 14 is below.
Together, let’s make Miami a better, more brilliant, more wonderful place for great music for everyone from all worlds in our hometown.
Warmly,
Gabriele Fiorentino
