MUSIC MONDAYS

Dear Gabriele,

Weather affects many parts of our daily life. This week, it brought thunder, lightening, torrents of rain, flooding. Storms.

The body of classical music has been inspired by storms, the sounds of rhythms, the danger. Their magnificence.

Today, we have chosen two pieces, one a beloved classical tone poem, the other a “manual chorus”.   Schuberts Erlkönig  makes palpable the desperation of a father, riding to escape the danger of the storm to keep safe his son. And hands, becoming thunder, lightning and rain. “

Warmly,

Gabriele Fiorentino
