MUSIC MONDAYS

Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues   by Frederic Rzewski

Dear Friend -

We met Yuka and Ayaka Yamamoto in 2013 when they came to Miami from Yokohama, Japan, for the Dranoff International 2 Piano Competition and won gold medals.
They were hosted and cared for by friends of Dranoff, and applauded and loved by audiences in Miami.  Now, years later, they are both live in Germany and have wonderful performance careers and rich personal lives. Both are married; Yuka has two beautiful children.

From day one, the Yamamoto Duo impressed listeners with the intense energy and passion they brought to the composers they played. The beauty of their relationship with each other as artists and sisters is interwoven into their music and finds expression in their artistry.

This music Monday you will hear how Yamamotos continue to move forward in the quality and repertoire in their performance.  Yuka and Ayaka have made new commitments to get their work to audience is new and old – so reflective of how much has changed in the performance world in such a short time. All of us must embrace these changes to succeed.

Right now, it may seem close to impossible to plan for the future. But Dranoff is making a plan for a new season. We want to make sure it’s the best ever. We need you to be part of this future performance season, and we need your support to bring new music and the best artists to you in whatever medium possible. Please make your contribution to our 2020/2021 season below.

Enjoy Yuka and Ayaka’s performance!

Warmly,
