Dear Gabriele -
Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa – all celebrations of nascence of light, life and community. We are so fortunate to live in a moment when the many different traditions of the world’s people are given an open reception. The lens is widening.
Kwanzaa celebrates the bonds between African Americans and Africa. The light and joy of the family, unity and ancestors. Today we celebrate the first principle, Umoja - Unity - who we are together.
Dranoff will be celebrating the bonds of music and dance brought from Africa in February with the West African Beats concert at the Miami Beach band shell. 2 pianos join the sound of steel pans by the virtuosic Leon Foster, and dance by Peter London. Together we will celebrate the excellence of classical artists playing music of the world.
There are still a few days left of 2022 to make a tax deductible gift to the Dranoff2. These gifts are vital to our continuing work. Thank you for supporting us.
Wishing you light and warmth.
Warmly,
Gabriele Fiorentino
