I hope that you are well! In these past couple of months, I have been finding a new footing in what seems to be an avalanche of collaborations and meaningful exchanges with fellow artists and institutions that are ready to embrace and repurpose the challenges of our time. 'Chipped' or not, the collective 'think-throughs' appear to be well-positioned for the new frontiers, and time and time again, difficult circumstances prove to be the breeding ground for new ideas. Here is a sampler of my past season's highlights, as well as upcoming events. Join me!

I am delighted to have been selected as one of the 10 composers who will write an orchestral piece in celebration of the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Nov 25th 2021. The engagement came through the Association of Musical Creators of B-H (AMUS), with the intention to enrich the country's current symphonic repertoire with fresh voices. It feels good to be able to give back to my old stomping grounds in this way. More info on this event soon!

On May 19 2021, the inspiring soprano Rose Hegele and pianist Julia Carey presented 'Tattoo' from my album EXTENSION in Illuminate Women's Music, a digital concert series out of Birmingham UK! The Boston Musical Intelligencer calls the piece a "movie-like vocal drama from a sotto voce “if I cannot love you” to an impassioned “I love you so,” electronics furnishing an exclamation point.” Also on the program were works by Sabrina Peña Young, Anne Phillips, Niloufar Nourbakhsh and Beata Moon.

New York Women Composers Tutti Thursdays
|
|
On May 20, 2021, I thoroughly enjoyed myself as the inaugural presenter in the new series Tutti Thursdays put together by the New York Women Composers, Inc. These online workshops are intended to bring the members together in informative and fun sessions until eventually transitioning to the in-person meets. My theme was centered around music for dance, while the future Tutti-ettes will cover music for film, music for voice and music for opera. Thank you, NYWC!

During the pandemic lockdown, I had a good fortune of connecting with positive forces in music in Tehran, Iran. Composer and multi-instrumentalist Hamed Erfani of Rodin Music Group chatted with me Live-To-Instagram about everything from meta-hybridity in sound to the cross pollination choices in our own productions. How are artists of today useful to each other as well as to a larger audience? You can view the talk HERE.

The pandemic brought together a new kind of orchestra able to operate from anywhere in the world. Unison Orchestra out of Los Angeles US, a brainchild of composer Laura Karpman and a growing roster of acclaimed global musicians, has much to say about the future of music. Their violist Eddy Malave, a wonderful host in his own right, interviewed me about my work during the pandemic and beyond. The interview is featured in his Unison Orchestra Live series on Instagram and you can view the talk HERE.

On June 26, 2021, the Korean American Dance Association (i KADA) will present 'Euphorica' set to my music on the two-day KoDaFe International Dance Film Festival in NYC. In this piece I collaborated with choreographer Ae-Soon Kim Miranda, the ever-daring dancers of iKADA, and a slew of outstanding instrumentalists. Grateful! Looking forward to joining forces again with a contemporary dance company that focuses on cultural exchange through the arts and, in this work, on women's perspective.
Soundtrack: Deborah Domanski - Mezzo-Soprano, Mick Gochanour - Electric Guitar, Mario Rasic - Electric Bass Guitar, Svjetlana Bukvich - Vocals, Lyrics & Synthesizers.
You can see the piece HERE.
Quote from the piece: "Through Scylla and Charybdis, and golden, thorny gardens, woman moves with vigor..."
