As the fall embraces us slowly - along with the tumult of our times - I find balance in my work and in the work of fellow artists who inspire me. I am excited to let you know about some of my last season's music highlights as well as the upcoming concerts in and around NYC. The artists I was honored to collaborate with in these works are true game-changers and extraordinary human beings! I invite you to the events.
Together, we create.

This Sunday, Oct 14 2018 at 3pm
I'll present a concert of multimedia works in
EXTENSION | Slow Music for Dance
at
Spectrum
in NYC. Many thanks go to Spectrum for inviting me to showcase pieces from my upcoming album along with several re-imagined earlier works. My collaboration with
MixUpNYC
(video still from the piece on program courtesy of artist), video artists
Igor Molochevsky
and
Kate Freer,
pianist
Marija Ilic
, and guitarist
Jimi Zhivago
brought me great joy! The afternoon concert will delve into the themes of empathy, love, convergence and freedom as I join the musicians on various types of keyboards. The venue is located at 70 Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn. $15 general / $10 students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door.

An exciting new venture in music has perked my ears in the past few years! I am delighted to be selected among 30 composers, out of 450 submissions, who will compete this year in
The Ear Classical
concerts in NY.
Think ‘The Voice’ for composers, but way rowdier... Expect the unexpected, and come vote on
Friday, Nov 16 2018
at 8mp
when my piece for string quartet and electronic sound will be presented. The concert will be held at the
DiMenna Center for Classical Music
located on 450 W 37th street in NYC. For tickets, please go

From
Nov 10 2018 to Jan 6 2019
my music will be part of the multidisciplinary installation
Reconstructed
Boxes/
OnSite: Lebbeus Woods
at
Art OMI
, curated by
Warren James
and
Nicole Hayes
.
This piece holds a special place in my heart. My collaboration with the late, internationally renowned architect Lebbeus Woods started in 1993, when this work in its original form graced the floor of the Luisiana Museum in Denmark. 25 years later it will be alive again, reconstructed, and resonating with architecture in the wars of our time. The exhibit will be on display in the Kantor Lobby at
Benenson Center
located at 1405 County Route 22 in Ghent, NY. Photo courtesy of the Estate of Lebbeus Woods, NY.

Last season I was thrilled to record my work for strings and electronic sound
Once You are Not a Stranger
with the fabulous
ETHEL
String Quartet
and the inimitable Grammy award-winning sound engineer
Roy Hendrickson
(Paul McCartney, Miles Davis) at one of my favorite studios, the
QDepartment
in Tribeca, NYC. The recording will be part of my upcoming collection of works along with some outstanding musicians I was fortunate to work with. Stay tuned for more news!

I'll be contributing a chapter to the book
Perspectives On Music Production: Gender In Music Production
, expected to be published in 2019 by
Routledge, U.K
., part of the
Francis &Taylor Group
. The music production book series is curated by
Russ Hepworth-Sawyer
of York St. John University, England. This qualifies as a dream come true, and I am grateful to the editorial team at Taylor and Francis for the opportunity to add my voice to the mix.
