Music Teachers National Association Hires New COO
CINCINNATI, OHIO (February 19, 2025)—Music Teachers National Association announces the appointment of Tom Crawford to the position of Chief Operating Officer, effective February 17. Following the promotion of former COO Brian Shepard to Chief Executive Officer in July 2024, Crawford was selected from a nationwide pool of more than 50 candidates.
In this role, Crawford will be responsible for overseeing MTNA’s day-to-day operations. He will work closely with the CEO and other leaders to ensure operational efficiency, strategic alignment and effective implementation of MTNA’s mission, strategy and goals.
Most recently, Crawford served as Vice President of Social Enterprise and Director of Federal Sales at the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired. Prior to that, he had a long career with Donisi Mirror Company, where he served as President and Vice President of Business Development. He has served on the boards of a number of organizations including the Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce, Glass Association of North America and the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus. He attended Indiana University and Xavier University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership.
