What's Music2YourFeet Up To This Month!

In This Issue - September 2018

Denise, Thank you for a wonderful year of providing exercise through dance, keeping our minds sharp with exciting routines, promoting a cheerful and happy place to make friends, and most of all for keeping us feeling young at heart. I am blessed to experience all of these things in your line dance classes. You are THE BEST, Merry Christmas, Daphne Van Buren
HTLC Youth Group - Texas Line Dancing & BBQ...
Denise came to our church in November as part of a fundraiser for our youth to go to Houston, Texas as a service project. Denise and her staff were excellent. The line dancing steps were easy to follow and we all had a blast. There are several of us who are going to attend her Senior Dance Classes in the area. You could feel the love of the Lord from Denise and her staff. If you have the opportunity to book her for your event - you will LOVE it!!

Dear Ms Bryant,
My wife and  I began coming to your Line Dance Class during late summer of 2017.  We took dance classes in Southern California, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and other classes here in Maryland.  I am writing to compliment your Up Beat, and Considerate Teaching Methods for your JAMMIN' DANCES.  My wife and I finally found the right place and the right Dance Instructor.  We want to compliment all of your Assistants for their extreme patience with those of us who are a little slower than others, too.(smiling)  Thank you for all you are doing for the Senior Population.

A Better You Series -
National Women's Health & Fitness Day

Women's Health & Fitness Day is the nation's largest annual health promotion event for women of all ages. This year's event is set for Wednesday, September 26, 2018, and in future years, is always held on the last Wednesday in September. This unique national program - with participation by local organizations throughout the U.S. - focuses attention on the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness for women. The event is similar in concept to its "sister" event - National Senior Health & Fitness Day - the nation's largest older adult health promotion program held every May. Women's Health & Fitness Day will also be part of a new National Women's Health & Fitness Week, to be held annually the last week in September.
On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, more than 500 groups across the country will host women's health and fitness events at senior centers, hospitals, health clubs, park and recreation districts, local health and service organizations, schools, retirement communities, houses of worship, and other community locations. An estimated 50,000 to 75,000 women of all ages are expected to participate in these local activities.

Here are 10 ways to support National Woman's Health & Fitness Day
1. Try a new type of activity. S pinning in the pool? Line Dancing with Music2YourFeet? Why not? Mixing up your workout can be good for your body.
2. Get your thyroid checked.  A sluggish or hyperactive thyroid can wreak havoc on your concentration, mood, and weight--and can go undetected for years.
3. Try some superfoods!  Broccoli, apples, turnips--and lots of other good stuff you can find at your local farmer's market. Try superfoods that can help you lose weight, fight colds, boost your heart health, and even live longer.
4. Take a cat nap. New research is shedding light on the health benefits of sleep, which is good for your heart, mind, weight, and more.
5. Ask a friend to tag along and work out. Not only will exercising be more fun, but research has shown that working out with a friend can help you stay motivated and lose more weight than those who go solo.
6. Try a healthy beauty treatment.
7. Eat for your bones. A healthy diet can go a long way towards helping you get enough calcium and vitamin D to keep your bones healthy and strong.
8. Stay hydrated. Not a fan of the 8-glasses-of-water-a-day rule? Try juicy, water-filled foods.
9. Get a massage. While a little bit of stress is fine for the body, prolonged stress can take a toll on your body, including weight gain, hair loss, and blood sugar swings.
10. You better watch your Back!. Try  lightening up your bag, or making other changes to help your back. And don't forget to add back-strengthening moves to your workout to stop problems before they get started.

Here's to your health!
