Dear Friends,

One of the most familiar melodies in synagogues around the world, “Tsadik Katamar Yifrakh,” from “Tov Lehodos” (a setting of Psalm 92), was composed by Louis Lewandowski in 19th-century Berlin. In this Musical Message, Josh Jacobson tells about its birth as a beautiful choral composition, delves into its artistry, and discusses how it was transformed into a congregational tune.
