Advent & Christmas 2022

From Ron...

I’ll be brief since this issue of our newsletter is packed with resources for the rapidly-approaching Advent and Christmas seasons. I simply want to acknowledge Christina’s work for the sensitive videos she creates for my audio recordings. An enormous commitment of time and skill combine to add new life to these resources. I hope readers will find them useful, especially over the coming weeks.

I also want to acknowledge the careful and time-consuming research which Christina puts into providing seasonal and thematic music suggestions for each issue of this newsletter. Her supportive work 'behind-the-scenes' is a year-round gift for me and many others.

P.S. She probably won’t like it, but this little section of the newsletter is all mine!

Instrumental Videos for ADVENT

During the COVID pandemic we created four Advent instrumental videos, on the themes of hope, peace, joy and love. All four are piano and violin recordings accompanied by sensitive imagery. The violin parts are played by two fine musicians I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years, so special thanks to Rheana Slack and Marie-Andrée Gray.

These videos are free for anyone to use. At our own church services, we used them as Preludes for our Advent online services, but I’m sure there are other creative ways to use them as well. If users have licences with either One License or CCLI, please report your usage in the normal way. Even if they are not used in services, you may wish to consider adding them to your holiday listening/watching lists. RK

Accompaniment Music Videos

For those creating online services, we’re developing Video Accompaniment Tracks. They include an introduction and custom accompaniment for all verses and refrains. You may download these for no charge but, when you use them online, please report the usage to One License and/or CCLI. That is our only source of compensation.
