Senior Companion Program

The Senior Companion Program, sponsored locally by Catholic Charities of West Michigan and AmeriCorps Seniors, helps older adults stay independent and connected. Volunteers aged 55+ provide friendly visits, transportation, light assistance, and emotional support—services that reduce isolation and offer respite for caregivers. These companions make a big difference in helping seniors age with dignity in their own homes.

Volunteers receive training, a tax-free stipend, mileage reimbursement, and paid time off, while building meaningful relationships that enrich both lives. This program fills a vital gap in our community, ensuring seniors have the support they need to thrive.

Love INC

Love INC’s Ramp Ministry gives freedom back to neighbors who would otherwise be homebound. Through volunteer labor and community support, Love INC builds wheelchair-accessible ramps for Muskegon County residents, ensuring safe entry and exit from their homes. These ramps often transform lives—making it possible for individuals to attend appointments, enjoy the outdoors, and respond to emergencies.

Each ramp is built by dedicated volunteers, often in just a couple of days, and funded through donations and Muskegon County Senior Millage support. This ministry is a powerful example of neighbors helping neighbors and showing Christ’s love in action.
