Pioneer Resources provides activities for Eastern Muskegon County older adults
The Eastern Muskegon County Senior Enrichment Group at Pioneer Resources meets weekly for a variety of recreation activities. Since December 2018 the group had attendance of over 100 seniors ranging in age from 62 to 89 years old.

During that time the group attended an art class at North Muskegon High School, a yoga class at Shoreline Natural Wellness, enjoyed a holiday light tour, massages by Lakeshore Massage Therapy, and visited the Muskegon Community College planetarium. Coming up, the group will visit the Cinema Carousel for a movie and the Walker Arena for a Lumberjacks hockey game.

The program is funded by the Muskegon County Senior Millage and has a suggested donation of $5.00 per person per event to help sustain the program. There is a maximum of 30 participants per event, so please call to reserve your spot.

If interested in joining the Pioneer Resources’ Senior Enrichment Group, please contact Monica Turnbull, Senior Enrichment Manager, at 231-220-2333 or MTurnbull@PioneerResources.org.

Committee approves programs for funding requests for 2019
The Muskegon County Senior Activities Committee recently gave the go-ahead to more than a dozen agencies to proceed with full proposals for funding about 20 programs.

The agencies will submit proposals to the committee by late February for a variety of programs to serve older adults in Muskegon County. The funding requests will be reviewed by the committee in March, and then will pass on to the county's Human Services Committee, and the full Board of Commissioners in April. Those approved will receive funding from mid-April through Sept. 30, 2019, and may be eligible for an additional two years of funding, pending successful evaluation of program offerings. Stay tuned for information on new programs and services, coming later this spring!
