Sophomores

Pre-ACT will take place on Tuesday, October 15, for all students in grade 10. This exam is a REQUIRED State Test for all students enrolled in grade 10. Make up test days are scheduled throughout the testing window so that all students can be tested. For any questions, please email Tara Doherty.

Freshmen, Juniors, and Seniors

Tuesday, October 15, will be a regular school day. Students who are not testing will report to homeroom and remain in homeroom until Pre-ACT testing is completed. Teachers will assign work for students to complete via Canvas. At the conclusion of the Pre-ACT, students will report to lunch followed by 4th block. Attendance will be taken in homeroom and 4th block.

Fall Midterms will be Monday, October 28 thru Thursday, October 31. Please see the REVISED bell schedule for midterms.

• Blocks 2 and 3 will not have to be reversed on Wednesday, October 30, due to the day being an Early Release day.
• NO Homeroom: Announcements will be in block 2 with the exception of Tuesday, October 29 and Wednesday, October 30.
• NO tests can be given during midterms except if an A/B day class is giving a test during the midterm block. EXAMPLE: On Monday, October 28 - A teacher can test their 1A class.
• Quarter 1 will end on Friday, November 1.

Donations will be collected for Hurricane Helene relief in Western NC.

The MPHS PTSO aims to raise $200,000 to fund the PTSO operating budget for the 2024-2025 school year. The money isn’t extra, it is essential to addressing targeted needs not funded by CMS. Your donation to the Annual Fund supports our diverse student body, teachers and staff and we appreciate your generous contribution. The Annual Fund donation form was sent in back to school forms, can be found on the PTSO website or in a mailer coming soon. We are grateful for your continued support as your donations directly impact the success of MPHS.

The Interact Club is leading the initiative and asking all clubs and the Myers Park community as we partner with Second Harvest Food Bank once again! We need your help collecting non-perishable items for those affected by Hurricane Helene. Hurricane Helene caused three days of extreme, unrelenting precipitation, which left catastrophic flooding and unimaginable damage in our Mountains and southern Foothills. This relief drive will start October 21st and continue through October 31st. Our dropoff sites will be at the front office and all carpool locations on selected dates (TBD).

You also have the option to drop off your non-perishable donations directly at 500 Spratt St B, Charlotte, NC 28206.

Parents of freshmen and sophomores - did you know that your child is part of the IB Middle Years Programme (IB MYP)? Did you miss the IB MYP Parent Night on October 7th?
