New eligibility for SNAP for some CMCC students
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides a monthly benefit in the form of an EBT/debit card to help individuals purchase nutritious food at supermarkets, local grocery stores, farmers markets, and online from specific stores.
Who is eligible?
Through Coronavirus relief, SNAP eligibility has been temporarily expanded to include college students who are enrolled for at least half time (6 credits per semester) and who:
- Have a zero expected family contribution (EFC) from their FAFSA; or
- Are eligible to participate in a work-study program
How to apply:
2. Contact the CMCC Office of Financial Aid by emailing them at finaid@cmcc.edu and requesting a ‘SNAP Eligibility Letter’. Include your CMCC ID in the email. Forward this letter to Farmington.DHHS@Maine.gov.
