PYP Update
November's Learner Profile is Thinker. A thinker is someone that exercises initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to make sound decisions and to solve complex problems.

As a school community, our challenge this month is to acknowledge and to encourage student's curiosity. To inspire their curiosity, we will help students to make meaningful connections to validate their thinking. Teachers have a challenge to find and to keep that spark in the classroom and, parents, your challenge is to help to nurture their curiosity at home. We can stimulate student's curiosity through:

* Building activities around their interests, their preferences, and around their sense of challenge.
* Acknowledging them as we listen to their thoughts and respond to what they care about.

When curiosity is present we know students are thinking.

Passport to Peace
The National Bullying Prevention month has ended. However, through Passport to Peace, students will continue to discuss, to learn and to develop positive attitudes towards people, the environment, and learning. During the month of November, the attitudes that will be highlighted are Commitment, Cooperation and Creativity.

Did you Know? The IB attitude Creativity supports the Learner Profile trait of Thinker.
How? Thinkers are creative and imaginative in their thinking and in their approach to problems and dilemmas.

Awards Day
The Awards Day Assembly took place on October 30, 2015. Congratulations to the Learner Profile recipients for Caring and Inquirer and to our other award winners.

Have a Super week!
