My Feet Hurt!

"My Feet Just Always Hurt."
This Does NOT Have To Be Your Story!

From the spine to the foot, all joints are connected and influenced by changes in any other joint in the chain.

Postural imbalances at any joint, especially ones that bear full body weight in standing like the knee, hip, and spine, lead to excessive wear and tear that can cause arthritis or even disc degeneration in the spine. When excessive foot pronation or "fallen arches" occurs, it not only causes foot pain, but often contributes to unresolved or recurrent back pain.

Wearing worn out shoes, or shoes with little or no arch support is one of the most common causes for fallen arches. High-heeled shoes and carrying excess weight are also common causes of excessive foot pronation. This can produce a short leg, pelvic unleveling, and increased curvature of your spine. Fallen arches place stress and strain on your feet, knees, hips, and spine. Other conditions associated with fallen arches include:
- Plantar Fascitis
- Bunions
- Shin Splints
- Knee/Hip/Back Pain

One way to check if you have fallen arches is to check the soles of old sneakers. A healthy foot will have soles that are evenly worn. A foot with excessive pronation will be worn more on the outside of the heel and on the inside edge of the toes.

How Do We Support The Feet?

Custom orthotics can be an important part of resolving foot or back pain. Orthotics can take into account your body weight, degree of flexibility in your foot, and correct a leg length discrepancy. Correcting fallen arches can provide relief to both your feet and your spine.

The argument we hear so often is, "But, I can only wear my orthotics in my tennis shoes, and in the summer I want to wear my cute sandals."

We now have an answer to that as well (for Men & Women)...

Why Do We Apply Essential Oils
To The Feet?

There are MANY reasons for applying essential oils to the bottoms of the feet, but we will just cover the top few...

The feet are the most porous part of the body, so the oils are absorbed quickly into your blood stream (about 30 seconds)  Other fast absorbing areas are behind the ears and on the wrists.

The feet are the safest place to put essential oils, as the skin here is the least sensitive.

Reflexology, is a practice thousands of years old, in which acupressure points on the feet or hands are massaged to relieve stress, illness, pain, and to stimulate mental, emotional, and physical well-being throughout all body systems. Used mostly in eastern medicine, various charts are used to depict these points. For example, if

one has a headache, they can apply their essential

oil of choice to the pad of

the big toe, which is the "head point."
