50th Anniversary of Dan Wakefield's Going All The Way
Author Dan Wakefield celebrates the 50th anniversary of his novel, Going All The Way, with a socially-distanced book signing from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 18 at the Red Key Tavern, 5170 N. College. Wakefield calls the venerable tavern, "a great institution. It is part of my own personal history-and many people can say the same thing." Established in 1933 at the end of Prohibition, the Red Key also plays a role in the 1997 film of the book which was shot on location in Indianapolis - including two scenes at the Red Key.
For $25, (cash only) fans can share 15 minutes with the author at a table outside of the Red Key, and receive an inscribed paperback copy of Going All The Way as well as a beer at the Red Key Tavern (which may be consumed on-site or packaged for takeout.) Wakefield has arranged so that all proceeds of the event go to the Red Key Tavern, which has been hit hard by the effects of the pandemic. Reserve your timeslot here.
