Join us in celebrating the grand opening of Parkside at Tarkington on Friday, March 10 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. The new affordable housing development, located at 3901 N. Meridian Street, is a joint initiative of Midtown Indy and Flaherty & Collins Properties.
Mayor Joe Hogsett will join us for the ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Parking is available behind the building.
Apartments are still available for seniors 55+ and individuals with disabilities.

Keystone-Monon Steering Committee Election Coming Soon
Twelve residents, business owners, and nonprofit leaders were nominated for election to the Keystone-Monon planning steering committee at the Feb. 15 meeting.
Midtown Indy is compiling the ballot with each nominee's statement of interest. Residents of the neighborhood will be asked to finalize the committee by electronic vote later this month.
Residents should sign up for the Keystone-Monon email list on the Midtown Indy project page sidebar to ensure they receive notice when the ballot is live.

After learning the library at James Whitcomb Riley School #43 had been closed since the pandemic, the community stepped in to bring it back to life.
Volunteers from the MLK Community Center, North United Methodist Church, National Council of Negro Women, School #43 alumni, and Butler University students bought furniture, games, and reading rewards. They will also staff the library four days per week.

On March 1, Mayor Joe Hogsett joined representatives of EmployIndy, the Indianapolis City-County Council, and partners to kick off the summer hiring season by announcing the 2023 edition of Project Indy.
The hiring initiative provides youth ages 16-24 a one-stop shop to find nearby employers.
Participating Midtown-area organizations include the Children's Museum, Crew Carwash, Freewheelin' Community Bikes, Hoagies and Hops, Newfields, the Patachou Foundation, and Indy Parks and Recreation.

IndyGo is improving travel options throughout the city—not just for those who ride the bus. Infrastructure improvements along the Red Line include 19 newly paved lane miles, 30,700+ feet of replaced sidewalks, and 27,700 feet of crosswalks.
The forthcoming Purple Line construction will create 3 miles of multi-use path, add or repair 9.5 miles of sidewalk infrastructure, and resurface 26.6 lane miles.
