One of the hallmarks of the William & Mary student experience is the opportunity to be involved in campus life. Joining a team, club, or group can create some of your most meaningful experiences while you are a student.

We hope many of you attended the Organizations & Activities Fairs earlier this week as part of New Student Orientation. September will be an active month for joining and it is an exciting time where our university value of belonging comes to life.

We want you to know that at William & Mary, being demeaned or exposed to harm should never be part of campus life. To that end, the Hazing Prevention Coalition wants to share some information with you about our hazing prevention efforts and other resources that can help you in the joining process.

  • Student Organization Conduct History: As part of university efforts to provide transparency to the community, the university publishes the conduct records of recognized student organizations (including hazing violations). We invite you to review the discipline histories of Recognized Student Organizations.

  • Notice Regarding Currently Suspended Group: Delta Phi fraternity (also known as Elmo/St. Elmo) currently is suspended due to hazing and alcohol-related violations. The university does not support any efforts for recruitment by this group, and we recommend students exercise caution before deciding to affiliate with the group.

  • Hazing Report Form (option to remain anonymous): Our goal is to empower everyone in our community to recognize hazing in its various forms, to know what to do when they see hazing activity or experience it directly, and to feel confident in taking action. If you think you have observed concerning behavior, report it.

We hope you are having a great start to your William & Mary experience! Know that we are here to support you throughout your time at the College.
