My Tribute (Little Amanda!) 10/16/24
PERSONAL TESTIMONY!
How can I say thanks
for the things You have done for me?
Things so undeserved,
yet You gave to prove Your love for me;
the voices of a million angels
could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and ever hope to be,
I owe it all to Thee.
To God be the glory,
to God be the glory,
to God be the glory
for the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me,
with His power He has raised me;
to God be the glory
for the things He has done.
Just let me live my life,
let it pleasing, Lord to Thee,
and if I gain any praise,
let it go to Calvary.

“In everything,” that is not merely when the house is on fire, not merely when the beloved wife and children are on the brink of the grave, but in the smallest matters of life, bring everything before God, the little things, the very little things, what the world calls trifling things—everything—living in holy communion with our Heavenly Father, and with our precious Lord Jesus all day long. And when we awake at night, by a kind of spiritual instinct again turning to Him, and speaking to Him, bringing our various little matters before Him in the sleepless night, the difficulties in connection with the family, our trade, our profession. Whatever tries us in any way, speak to the Lord about it.”
George Mueller, in Life of Trust
God hears the “the little things, the very little things, what the world calls trifling things—everything—living in holy communion with our Heavenly Father, and with our precious Lord Jesus all day long.”
I had the DUTY/RESPONSIBILITY/TASK of getting my daughter Amanda to the dentist yesterday. The last time I TRIED to get her there was UNBELIEVABLY FOUR YEARS AGO-I was shocked when the dental office informed me upon arriving. The last time I TRIED she screamed and FOUGHT all the way there and upon arriving stuck her toe in the car A/C vent and ripped her toe open. I had to go into the office and sadly tell them I could not get her out of the car.
I have dreaded/ FEARED another attempt but I had to.........................
I am the only one who even attempts to brush and floss her teeth. It is that bad!
When I tell you I PRAYED, I PRAYED-for weeks and months I have PRAYED and asked for PRAYER.
Luke 18:1 (KJV)
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
James 5:16 (KJV)
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
And yes, I well know this may seem TRIVIAL-something personal. It-Amanda's dental health-matters VERY little to what is going on in the world. It makes no headlines.
BUT to a dad it meant and means the WHOLE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
O, how I dreaded yesterday! I FEARED the worst-the worst being a repeat of the last FAILED attempt and even worse was the fear that because of my “neglect” her oral health was being compromised. Again, I HAD to get her there or............................
And YES, it was a bitter battle. She fought her caregiver and I to even get her in the car and she screamed and cried and fought all the way there-a 30 minute drive.
As I drove, I faced my real fear of DEFEAT-AGAIN-the real knowledge that once again I may be forced to return home with no victory, no medical treatment or even worse, a terrifying medical diagnosis that because of my “failure” her teeth and gums would require more extensive treatment.
As I drove the terrible drive, I continued to PRAY-see Scriptures above please.
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!!!!!!!!!!
The moment we pulled into the dentist office, Amanda stopped screaming and crying!!!
Amanda stopped fighting and suddenly-MIRACULOUSLY calmed down and PEACEABLY allowed us to roll her into the dentist chair where the WONDERFUL hygienist spent a FULL HOUR carefully/specially/LOVINGLY did an incredible job!!!
AND GUESS WHAT????
SHE HAD NO CAVITIES AND NO DENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT WAS A MIRACLE-TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even now as I type this message my eyes are flooded with UN-embarrassed tears.
God did that for ME-PERSONALLY.
PS-I bought her a McDonald Happy Meal on the way home and she ate a whole cheeseburger, a few fries AND a large Coke with no ice!
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me wipe my eyes and sign off now..............................
