Tzedakah Shop?

There are so many places to shop online, to find great gifts to send to loved ones, but our Federation just launched an online shopping experience like no other. We call it our “difference kind of store.”

On September 1, our Upper Fairfield County Federation debuted a new kind of online shopping site that’s fun, simple, meaningful, and where change comes with every purchase.

Located at tzedakahshop.com , the new store provides easy opportunity to buy tangible units of directed, impactful charity that make a difference in the lives of others.

Want to send a special present for a birthday or Chanukah? Want to honor someone for a milestone event, such as a Bar/Bat-Mitzvah or graduation? Want to pay tribute to the memory of a friend or loved one? Want to simply make a meaningful and tangible impact in the lives of others?

Tzedakah Shop provides you the opportunity to do all those things and more, choosing units of impact for wonderful charitable organizations. For our initial pilot launch this Fall, you’ll be able to choose products benefiting four organizations in our partnership region of Afula-Gilboa in Israel.
You can choose from:

  • Adopting an animal of your choice at the Beit Singer Therapeutic Zoo
  • Buying sandwiches for underprivileged children through the Afula Crowns Sandwich Club
  • Sponsoring a therapeutic horseback-riding session for a resident of Beit Uri
  • Providing a Chanukah gift for a child living at the Emunah Sarah Herzog Children’s Center

And, for each item you choose, we'll give you the option of making that item a gift or tribute. Tell us the name and email address of the person you want to honor, and we'll email a certificate letting the recipient know about the item you have purchased in their honor. It's that simple!

Even more exciting is that our Federation’s new Tzedakah Shop is being promoted by every Federation in our Southern New England Consortium. And, if our Fall pilot proves successful, we plan to add a whole bunch more beneficiary organizations in 2019.

Since our launch on September 1, I personally have made numerous purchases on Tzedakah Shop, sending gifts for birthdays and simchas, and each time it has felt great. I encourage you to try it as well.

Sponsor a lemur for a friend’s birthday. Purchase 50 sandwiches for Afula children in honor of a loved one. It’s a “difference” kind of store; and I’m confident you’ll also enjoy - and be moved by - this “difference” kind of shopping experience.
