New! 99 Year Lease of Government Property and Tax Rolls


"I am looking at redeveloping a city-owned property with the goal of having it back on the tax rolls (possibly a mixed-use building and a microbrewery). Have any other CRAs explored a 99-year ground lease for a city-owned property? I’d like to know if anyone knows whether that would then have the property paying commercial taxes with a lease like that?"

New Answer! Workforce Housing?


"I’m trying to get a little guidance on using CRA funds for workforce housing. Both Chapter 163 and our interlocal refer to “workforce/ affordable housing” development. Would programs that encourage landlords to keep rents within a specific AMI in return for funding qualify as development?"

New Answer! Use of CRA Funds for Capital Improvement Projects


"Our advisory board recommended using CRA funds for a lighting project in one or bridges. However, several year ago a similar project was added to the CPI plan and ultimately not pursued or funded. Are we able to use CRA funds for this?"

Are you interested in making an impact on your association?


Nominations are open for members who want to step forward to put their leadership and knowledge to task by serving on the Florida Redevelopment Association’s Board of Directors. New officers will be voted on at the Annual Business Meeting in October at the 2026 FRA Annual Conference.


There are six At-Large positions open and two Elected Official positions. Nominations for open positions on the FRA Board must be sponsored by a current member of the Board of Directors. 

The FRA is dedicated to assisting Florida professionals and volunteers in community revitalization efforts across the state by providing a forum for members to share knowledge and common experiences through its members-only website, MyFRA, as well as providing training and professional development opportunities, revitalization news, and the tools needed for CRAs and redevelopment professionals to succeed.
