MyTTC Weeky

A message from TTC CEO Rick Leary

I want to begin my first weekly message of 2024 with a Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone managed to get some rest over the holiday season.

We have a lot planned for this year as we continue to transform and modernize the TTC. I look forward to all that we’ll achieve together to keep our great city moving

Announcing our United Way fundraising total

This morning, I was joined by TTC Chair Jamaal Myers, ATU Local 113 Executive Vice President Angie Clark, and TTC/United Way Campaign Co-Chair Kathy Wyeth to present United Way Greater Toronto with a $678,252.43 donation raised by employees and pensioners.

My thanks to each and every person whose generosity will play a crucial role in supporting the United Way’s work across the city. Our employees have a strong and enduring commitment to the communities we serve. Your caring nature, your concern and your generosity are on display every day in the work you do. This is a remarkable example of that.

In further displays of TTC generosity over the holiday season, we collected 12,000 cans of soup for the Veterans Association Food Bank and over 10,000 toys through our popular Stuff-the-Bus events held around the city. Donations were made to organizations, such as Parkdale Peace Project, SickKids, Abuse Hurts, Community Place Hub, BGC Dovercourt and Progress Place.

Thanks to Recreation Council volunteers and all participants for sharing joy and support to children and youth who need it most.

Bus service back at Broadview

It was great to see bus service return to Broadview Station starting last week. The TTC is now in the final phase of work to upgrade the overhead network in preparation for streetcars returning to the station in the coming months. My thanks to everyone for their hard work and collaboration with our City partners to complete this critical state-of-good-repair project.
