March 2026 - Myeloma Action Month Edition

Word from our CEO

"Our community has always been one that moves forward and that is why today we call March Myeloma Action Month.

The change may appear subtle, but it reflects an important evolution. Awareness helped people understand myeloma and the challenges faced by those living with it. Today, that understanding must translate into something more powerful: action."

The energy surrounding Myeloma Action Month has been truly inspiring, and we are so grateful for every single person who has taken action.

Spotlight on Phil Barker

"My name is Phil Barker. I’m 65 years old. I’ve lived in Canada most of my life, with a few years in the US during my training. My wife and I have been married for 30 years, the second marriage for both of us. We’ve blended our families: two kids each, plus a “late addition.” They now range from 16 to 38 years old [...] I was back in Montreal in 2018 for a camping trip with friends. It was a fairly physical trip, and I started having rib pain. I brushed it off, assuming I’d pulled something."
