Word from our CEO

In this very special message from our CEO, Martine talks about her recent knee replacement surgery and how her perspective on pain has profoundly changed.

"In November, I underwent a total left knee replacement. It was considered a “day surgery,” and I went into it thinking I had a reasonable sense of what recovery would look like. Boy, was I very wrong."

Myeloma Canada Joins the Global Myeloma Action Month Initiative

This March, Myeloma Canada is proud to join the global myeloma community in observing Myeloma Action Month. While awareness remains vitally important, it’s action that drives real change, action that advances research, improves care, and connects people living with myeloma across the globe.

How to participate

Join Us for the 5th Annual Myeloma Canada Ride!

Important Notice: Myeloma Monitor App Will Stop Functioning

We would like to inform you of an important change regarding the Myeloma Monitor application. After a detailed assessment, we have determined we will be discontinuing the Myeloma Monitor app, especially given the availability of other suitable tools. Our goal is to ensure that you have the information and support you need during this transition.

Learn more about what that means for you.

Carvykti® negotiations are back on!

"On behalf of everyone at Myeloma Canada I am very excited to share with you that the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) has just announced that the Carvykti® negotiation with Johnson & Johnson, the manufacturer, has been reactivated. This means that the parties are back at the negotiations table and are actively trying to reach agreement over a listing price. Given this new turn of events, Myeloma Canada is hopeful that the parties will find a way to come to a positive pricing agreement quickly. Rest assured, we will be following the proceedings closely.

We will be sending letters of encouragement to both the pCPA CEO and the President of Johnson & Johnson. I encourage you to follow us on our social media platforms and through our newsletter to see how you can get involved.

This is positive news for all patients in Canada. We thank everyone of you who sent one of the nearly 6,000 emails to provincial representatives and Health Ministers urging the negotiations to re-start. Your actions spoke loudly and definitely played a role in taking us to where we are now."

-Martine Elias

CEO, Myeloma Canada
