Dear Friend in Unity
As Mother's Day approaches, my
mind and heart invariably turn in the direction of the influential maternal figures in my life
, including my own birth mother, my older sisters, my aunts, my spiritual mentors, and Myrtle Fillmore, the mother of Unity. I also spend time in reflection of my role as a maternal figure in the lives of others, including my own beloved children, my granddaughter, and my extended family of wonderful nieces and nephews.
Without a doubt,
the relationships we weave with those who have mothered us and those we mother, are plentiful in their opportunities for spiritual growth
and healing. It's often been said that our children are our master teachers. Amen to that!
This Sunday I'm being called, with the help of a surprise guest voice, to
shine a brighter light on the incredible woman named Myrtle Fillmore who birthed what we now know as the Unity movement.
Through her own spiritual journey she came into a greater and more evolved understanding of her own Divine Identity and capacity for healing and wholeness. This understanding sowed the seeds for the myriad teachings that form the foundation of the Unity core principles.
Our mothers, the mothering figures and our own mothering have much to teach us; not only in
our capacity to express unconditional love but also in revealing those parts of us still needing to be healed
. More opportunities during this STATE OF EMERGENCE! For that I am profoundly grateful.
I'm so looking forward to connecting with you on an upcoming Zoom experience at Unity Victoria.
In gratitude and service!
Rev. Roxanne
