Openings and Closures
This week as a friend and I delivered copies of The Top 100 Grand Strand Restaurants magazine to several area restaurants and businesses, we saw a ton of traffic. Our county schools were closed this week for spring break, and I'm sure many other places didn't have school this week as well. There were so many families having fun at Broadway at the Beach on Wednesday, the overflow parking areas were in use.
Hurrah for a great start to the 2013 tourist season!
This week's headlines include more information about the new French restaurant soon opening at the north end of Myrtle Beach, a new healthy fast food concept that recently launched in Myrtle Beach, a couple of restaurant closures, the winner of the Pelicans Home Run Recipe Contest, a peek inside The Wicked Tuna that's opening soon in Murrells Inlet, a review of a new Filipino restaurant, a handy place to stop for barbecue when traveling to and from the beach, and some dining deals, specials and events.
Coming next week - another area restaurant is in its 65th year of business, and it is still owned by the third generation of the founding family.
And here's some exclusive information that has not yet been published - the second Grand Strand location of Jimmyz Japanese Hibachi opened this week at 670 U.S. 17 S. in Surfside Beach. Most recently that building was the location of Cool Daddy's. I popped in there on Wednesday to deliver Top 100 magazines, and it looks nice. Also, the new CHARZ Family Grill restaurant opened in Surfside Beach, in Surfside Plaza near Fat Jack's.
