NCHS Trojans can shop durning Student Resource Time on Wednesdays! The Trojan Boutique, a student-run, gently-used clothing consignment, opened adjacent to the Cosmetology Studio. Students can sign up for private visits to get free clothing and accessories! Holly Miller, Boutique sponsor, said, "We officially opened November 1st; it is still a work in progress, but we helped 5 students opening day! We are still taking clothing items, hangers, bags, you name it! Just send anything to my room! We are also getting ready to decorate once all of the clothing is organized. If anyone has any rugs, accent chairs, mirrors, etc. let me know, please! Thank you!" The Trojan Boutique has clothing in every style, and size. Children are inclined towards giving. As NCCSC teachers discuss global issues and encourage empathy, we help them better engage with people from a wider range of cultures and backgrounds. We are extremely proud of our Westwood Elementary students. Together they collected 2,125 pounds of non-perishable foods for God's Grain Bin. The donations will feed over 450 families this season! Kindergarten classes (photo below) collected the most food, and have learned their impact will change the world! Thank you.
How do you nurture inner motivation for generosity within your children? Please email: rglover@ncweb.me

Fall Inspired Haiku Poems by NCHS Students
NCHS's English Department challenged students with Haiku poetry. Haiku, known for its rule of 5/7/5 syllabic pentameter, is traditionally unstructured, and usually without rhyme. The discipline of the poetry is to use descriptive vivid pictures with few words, encapsulating a large idea or feeling in miniature form. Below is a link to read the top 22 Fall Haikus of NCHS!

Veterans Day Luncheons and Programs
For many years, Wilbur Wright Elementary hosted an intimate Veterans Day Luncheon. This year, The Food Service Department extended the invitation to every school! The response was phenomenal, with 146 Veterans attending, and their guests. Because of the joy this day brought, New Castle Schools will continue this honorable tradition for years to come. Humbly we say thank you, Veterans, for serving our Country, our families, and our community. We appreciate you!
