5th September 2022| Issue #23

Dear Anjaney Borwankar,

We trust you are very well.

As we transition to greener, more equitable and sustainable sources of energy, we need new frameworks for decision-making to future-proof our businesses. In our recent Blue Seas webinar on the theme of decarbonisation, our expert guest Dr.Ricardo Barcelona, author of the book Dynamic Decisions, shared insights on how to win in this energy transition context by applying "3R's" i.e.Re-purpose, Re-frame and Re-configure.

Our next expert guest in the Blue Seas webinar series is Dr.Sanjay C Kuttan, CTO of the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD). With an endowment of 120 million Singapore dollars, the Singapore based GCMD is a great example of a Public-Private-Partnership to facilitate maritime decarbonisation.

There is a lot more in this edition of N-EWS so read on....

Dr. Sanjay C Kuttan, CTO of GCMD, joins Navozyme's webinar series focused on maritime decarbonisation

The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD)

Strategically located in Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering hub and second largest container port, GCMD aims to help the maritime industry eliminate GHG emissions by shaping standards, deploying solutions, financing projects, and fostering collaboration across sectors.

GCMD was set up on 1 August 2021 as a non-profit organisation with an initial investment of 120 million Singapore dollars from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and six other maritime organisations.

Dr.Sanjay Kuttan, GCMD CTO, will join Navozyme's Co-founder & Chief-executive, Anjaney Borwankar, on the webinar this 28th September, 2022.

N-Bunker facilitates decarbonisation by ensuring smoother bunkering

Learn about N-Bunker

Deep Tech (Blockchain & AI) harnessed to facilitate bunkering

N-Bunker reduces port congestion by reducing the the waiting time for bunkering at anchorage. This in turn eliminates wasted fuel burn and facilitates decarbonisation.

N-Bunker uses deep-tech (blockchain & AI). Blockchain secures critical data, ensures privacy and facilitates the traceability of key events and transactions. AI Machine Learning algorithms track volatile parameters like changing meteorological conditions, ETAs of other vessels, etc., to predict the optimised time for bunkering.

Professor Giulio Toscani's article about the Metaverse published in Harvard's Deusto Business Review

The evolution of IP rights at the focus of Metaverse article

Prof. Giulio Toscani, a Navozyme advisor, released a co-written article discussing the Metaverse and its effect on companies' IP rights.

The article illustrates real cases which show how disruptive innovations, such as the Metaverse, calls (or even forces) involved parties to evolve with it.

Prof. Toscani is an Advisory Board Member at Navozyme. He is a Corporate Advisor and Professor on Digital Strategy and Strategic Leadership with more than fifteen years of experience in teaching and designing programs in business schools and multinational companies.

N-CAP enables Training Institutions to issue IMO compliant e-certificates

Discover N-CAP

Seafarers receive IMO compliant e-certificates via N-CAP

With N-CAP (Navozyme's Certificate Authentication Platform), Issuers (Flags, Maritime Training institutions, Exam Administrators etc.) can issue IMO compliant STCW & Non-STCW electronic certificates with ease.

Leading organisations like the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), Philippines and the International Association Of Maritime Institutions (IAMI),  UK are already issuing hundreds of e-certificates automatically every month with N-CAP.

Contact us if your organisation would also like to benefit from N-CAP. You can also learn more about N-CAP here.

Navozyme webinar ends with a special gift!

On the 30th of August, Navozyme concluded the second part of the Dynamic Decisions webinar where Dr. Ricardo Barcelona, an energy & investments expert, dove into how we can win in the energy transition.

The discussion went over how we must seize opportunities when they appear in order to navigate through the VUCADD context (Volatile Uncertain Complex Ambiguous Digitalisation Decarbonisation). Dr. Barcelona introduced his 3 R's (Re-purpose, Re-frame, Re-configure), a three-step framework for leaders to pivot and future proof their businesses.
