Important Update on Emergency Rent Assistance Funding
|
|
We have important news to share about our emergency rent assistance program. As many pandemic-era funding sources have ended, we must refocus our resources on households with the greatest needs and highest risks of becoming homeless. Earlier this month, with over 800 requests for assistance, we implemented measures to ensure efficient and timely identification of high-risk households. As a result, these new processes have significantly reduced wait times for individuals and families who qualify for the emergency assistance program.
We recognize that great need still exists in our community. While we regret that funding changes are currently limiting our ability to be proactive, we are working with urgency and care to connect our neighbors in need with any and all available resources.
If you have any questions, concerns or ideas that you would like to share with us, please connect with Executive Director Kelly Evans by email or call (970) 488-2363.

N2N's Homeownership Team:
Helping Neighbors Advance Along the Housing Continuum
|
|
|
Our Homeownership Team recently joined with Northern Colorado lenders and realtors for the 2023 Realtor Summit hosted at the Ranch Events Complex. This incredible team of N2N advocates and educators spent a very productive day spreading awareness about our free Homebuyer Education Classes, as well as sharing exciting news about in-person Spanish language classes we will begin offering this year. Following this event, one participant had this to share:
"I wanted to say thank you for stopping by my table at the Realtor Summit last week...I love what N2N does. It has helped my son and his girlfriend get ahead when they first came to town, so it is very cool to see what you do in action."
|
|
Whether you're just starting to explore homeownership or you're about to close, N2N's Homebuyer Education Class will prepare you to:
- Budget for upfront and ongoing expenses
- Recognize how your credit relates to homebuying
- Discover resources for down payment assistance and affordable housing
- Understand mortgage financing options
- Learn about real estate contracts and the loan closing process
- Become familiar with home inspections
- Fulfill education requirements for many programs including LHOP, USDA, and CHFA

~ N2N Emergency Assistance Client Testimonial ~
"I worked throughout my whole pregnancy as a fulltime care provider, and saved all of my PTO, but without having paid maternity leave through my employer, it still wasn't enough for me to be able to pay my rent. I am beyond thankful for the help N2N provided my family so that I could have some time with my son after he was born."

Group Volunteer Season is (almost) Here!
It may not feel like it now, but spring and summer are just around the corner.
|
|
While we consider each and every volunteer and their contributions to be priceless, there is a monetary value to their work - and a hefty one at that! Last year, 109 N2N volunteers contributed 3,670 volunteer hours, which has a total value of $109,916.50. In addition to the incredible influence they have on the lives of our clients and staff alike, volunteers help keep our costs down, allowing us to make a greater local impact with available funding and donations.
To ensure we make the most of your time and our warmer seasons, we are compiling a list of interested volunteer groups for upcoming spring, summer and fall special projects. No commitments are needed today - just let us know if your group would like to be included or contacted about potential projects:

If you're interested in more frequent, individual volunteer opportunities, please fill out our quick Volunteer Interest Form and our Community Engagement Coordinator, Peri, will be in touch. You can also connect directly with Peri by email or phone/text at (970) 818-2156.
