THE RETURN OF The FERNS     NA PALAPALAI
We are going on almost 25 years of Nā Palapalai-our signature sound of high energy Hawaiian music. We started in the early 90's as back up singers for Akoni and his Palapalai Patch, singing our hearts out to Moku O Keawe songs from he and his Tutu Ida Kahele. When the training wheels finally fell off, we emerged as Nā Palapalai.  We were determined to hit it big and started with every seedy bar, backyard pa'ina, Tuesday fundraiser and funeral we could get our hands on. We were young and thirsty and ready to take on the world. 
We sought out lesser known or forgotten traditional Hawaiian songs we could reintroduce and include in our repertoire. We worked hard to write good original music of our own. We were taken under the wing of Keli'i Joy,  Sam Bernard and The Kalima's, Alvin and Alberta, just to name a few. Johnny Lum Ho has a big influence on our sound and writing style. We try to keep that underlying flavor of Hawaii Island as we serve you Traditional Hawaiian.... with a twist. 
Originality has always been key to us. History remembers the innovators.
2019 brings us to our newest releases, BACK to the PATCH double CD, our HULA double DVD and a GREATEST HULA HITS CD. All of this new music and hula video are a tribute to our fans and friends whom have stood by us all these years and have grown to become a Hawaiian music army, worldwide. 
Your unwavering Aloha humbles us every day.
We dedicate this new release to all the hula dancers around the world. Mahalo for the support from countries and cultures we could've never dreamed of reaching. It is for you that we sing.
