The National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO), an affiliate member of NAA, is accepting applications for the Henry Ogrodzinski Scholarship. "Henry O" spent more than 17 years leading NASAO as its President & CEO, devoting his life to the general aviation industry. Henry was an advocate for aviation throughout his entire professional life and this scholarship will help to continue his legacy. Candidates must be college-level juniors or seniors who are continuing their education in the aviation or aerospace industry. The program may award up to three, $1,000, non-renewable scholarships and application deadline is June 4, 2021. Please visit the NASAO website for further details.
Do you know a trailblazing woman in aviation? Women in Aviation International (WAI) is now receiving nominations for inductees into the WAI Pioneer Hall of Fame. Female candidates or organizations that have made significant contributions to the aviation industry as record-setters, trailblazers, or innovators are eligible. Posthumous nominations are acceptable. Special consideration will be given to individuals who have helped other women become successful in aviation or opened doors of opportunity. The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center during the 33rd Annual International Women in Aviation Conference. The deadline to submit an official nomination is August 1, 2021. Information on eligibility and nomination requirements are available on the WAI website.
On April 30, the International Skydiving Hall of Fame announced its 2021 class of inductees: Omar Algehalen (Saudi Arabia), Ian Bobo (USA), Lesley Gale (Scotland), Patrice Girardin (France), and Roger Nelson (USA, Posthumous). The International Skydiving Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who through leadership, innovation and/or outstanding achievements, have defined, promoted, and advanced skydiving at the highest and sustained levels such that they have made it possible for generations of skydivers to enjoy the sport. The 2020 and 2021 classes will be inducted at Skydive Perris in Perris, CA on October 7-9, 2021. Registration for the celebration event is now open.
