Dear NAA Members and Friends,
This week, in honor of Veterans Day, NAA would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the brave women and men who have served our country in the armed forces and fought to protect our freedom. We are forever grateful for your dedication, courage, and sacrifice. Today and every day, thank you.

The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, the world governing body of air sports for which NAA serves as the United States representative, recently announced its slate of 2020 general award recipients. Americans Scott Neumann and Bob Stangarone were named as recipients of the Paul Tissandier Diploma, which is awarded to those who have served the cause of Aviation in general and Sporting Aviation in particular, by their work, initiative, devotion or in other ways. Fellow American Larry Bagley will receive the Leonardo Da Vinci Diploma for his achievements in the sport of parachuting. FAI will present the 2020 general awards at their virtual General Conference in December. Congratulations Scott, Bob, and Larry!

There are just 18 days left to submit a nomination for the NAA Stinson Trophy. The award, which recognizes "a living person for an outstanding and enduring contribution to the role of women in the field of aviation, aeronautics, space, or related sciences", was created to honor the accomplishments of two sisters, Katherine and Marjorie Stinson, who were among the first 11 American women to be certified as pilots by the Aero Club of America (the predecessor of NAA). If you know an outstanding individual who fits the criteria outlined above, please consider submitting a nomination by November 30. More information about the Stinson Trophy, including the nomination guidelines, are available on the NAA website.

NAA affiliate member NBAA has always led the way in providing events that help people connect, turn business opportunities into realities, and move the industry forward. That’s the idea behind the all-new VBACE. VBACE will be the first-ever, completely immersive online business aviation trade show. The two-day event (December 2-3) is free for NBAA members to attend and will incorporate many of the traditional elements of NBAA’s successful live events, including over 200 virtual 3D exhibit booths, two keynotes, press conferences, education sessions and more. Non-members are welcome to attend by paying a registration fee or receiving an invitation from a VBACE exhibitor. Additional information including the exhibitor list, program schedule, and and registration details are available on the NBAA website.

Registration is closing soon for AIAA's ASCEND virtual conference taking place November 16-18. ASCEND is the most forward-thinking space conference in the world, bringing together the right people to discuss fundamental questions and deliver solutions that will advance the global space community. The conference will combine technical and non-technical content in a highly engaging and intentional way so attendees can play an active role in contributing to the building of our off-world civilization. ASCEND is packed with value for the disruptors and innovators that we love the best. Speakers include Barbara Barrett, Secretary of the U.S. Air Force; James Bridenstine, NASA Administrator; Marillyn Hewson, Executive Chairman, Lockheed Martin Corporation; and General John Raymond, Chief of Space Operations, U.S. Space Force.
