New Care Partner Group

The Care Partner Group for families impacted by PPA has been going so well that we are adding a Care Partner Group for those impacted by aphasia as a result of stroke or brain injury. Stay tuned - 5/21 kick off!

The NAA was thrilled to host Dr. John Pierce (SLP from Australia) and Bryn Bowles (Nurse & Aphasia Advocate Extraordinaire!)

Ask the Expert: AI & Aphasia Webinar

The panel discussed what AI tools have been developed, what are some positives and risks and what we can expect in the future. Practical suggestions were shared and questions answered! Join us on Wednesday at After the Expert where we continue the conversation about Aphasia and AI!

Speaking of AI... you only have a few days to get your survey in! We want to hear from you!

The National Aphasia Association's AI Task Force is interested in finding out how persons with aphasia utilize AI. And why or why not.

Speaking Out Conference October 3-4th 2025

Fondly recalling meeting Dr. Oliver Sacks!

Thrilled to share Emeritus Board Chair Darlene Williamson's nostalgic look at the Speaking Out Conference series.

More Speaking Out Memories

"I have attended 9 of the 14 Speaking Out conferences sponsored by the NAA. My favorite was in Boston in 2006. Boston is a haven for Aphasia. Students from local universities had educated all the businesses in the vicinity of the conference and those stores and restaurants that had received training had signs in their window saying, “We are Aphasia Friendly.”  And they were. A well-organized, well-attended, community-based meeting for people with Aphasia with excellent speakers. To be immersed in this supportive environment was very rewarding and inspiring. Looking forward to the NAA re-instituting this important event."

Do you have a "Speaking Out" memory? email maura@aphasia.org with your story & photos of a NAA Speaking Out conference that YOU attended!
